"We visited a number of places and found Word & Worship Church a refreshing place to be."

Nick & Karen

Frustrated by church politics, the Cratsa family was looking for a church where God’s Word was walked out without compromise. Upon visiting Word & Worship Church (WWC), Nick & Karen found what they were looking for. The Cratsa family was thrilled to find a church where the people were filled with such hope and love. From connection groups to youth group, Nick & Karen are excited to be a part of WWC where their entire family fits in.

Alvia

"Before coming to Word & Worship Church, I would ‘church-hop’ or not attend at all."

Alvia

Burnt out from the typical church experience, Alvia had no desire to become a member of a church until she visited Word & Worship Church. The genuine relationships and the practical messages caused Alvia to turn over a new leaf. The simplicity of God’s Word being brought to life keeps her looking forward to seeing her church family every week.

"My sister saw the change in me and she wanted the same thing for her."

Ashley & Family

Consumed and overwhelmed with life, Ashley (far right) gave in and visited Word & Worship Church (WWC). The messages were easy to understand and eye opening, so much so that Ashley decided to receive Jesus as her forgiver and leader. As she continued to grow, her family noticed significant changes in her life and were compelled to give WWC a chance.

From never wanting to go to church at all, to being changed from the inside out, Ashley and her family now attend every week, so they can learn something new and grow spiritually.

Jimmie & Jada

Word & Worship (WWC) has helped us form the foundation for our lives, our home, our marriage, and family. Since we got married on December 5, 2010, WWC has been our support. We have had some valley experiences and some mountain top experiences, all the while our church family have been there through it all. We don’t feel like church members, nor do we feel like we’re a part of a church that looks at race or position, rather a group of people pulling together, doing whatever it takes to seek God’s will! Whenever we need help in any circumstance, we know that we can find it in our church family!

Curtis & Cassandra (A.K.A. "Jireh Crew")

"We didn’t want church as usual"

Curtis & Cassandra

Hello, we are Curtis, Cassandra and our crew, AKA the "Jireh Crew". We are excited to share our story about how WWC has blessed us and our family. In our experience, visiting a new church had it drawbacks.  With us having such a large family,  we would often be the focus of many questions and derogatory comments.  When visiting W&W We were welcomed with open arms and much to our surprise, having a large family is quite common.

In this first year that we’ve been at WWC we’ve both attended two Victory and Freedom weekends, been blessed to serve on the worship team and have been able to connect and truly fellowship with some wonderful people who love Christ.  The biggest blessings is seeing our children grow in their gifts.  WWC  not only challenges us but our children to step out in faith and begin to walk in our gifts.  We can say we are finally home and excited about what God has in Store.

"We were searching for a church to teach our children about God."

Holly & Ken

In 2009 we bought our first home in Delmont. With two toddler girls we were searching for a church to take our children to and teach them about God. Our whole purpose of doing this was for them. However WWC helped us realize we needed a church for our whole family and a better, different way into Gods heart. So we ended up at Word & Worship invited by our Uncle and Aunt. We joined sometime before Thanksgiving and it only took a few months to appreciate the change and to want to keep going. By May Ken and I were baptized. Shortly after we were attending Connection Groups and sharing at church events.

Our marriage has grown stronger as well as our relationship with our children. We can teach our children with confidence about God etc. We have people to turn too now that we can fully trust and embrace ourselves within the church. There is more peace in our life. Ken and I handle arguments better and disciplinary methods with our children. And most important I find that we are reaching out to others easier, talking about God, and praying more for others. It is second nature now to speak about how God will provide and take care of us and make things work out as well as tell others they are in our prayers or that we are praying for them.

We feel so PROUD of our renewed FAITH and HAPPIER to be closer to God and more Open in our relationships outside the church.

"It will probably be a bunch of petty women and me not fitting in."

Jimmy & Angel

We were planning to leave Pittsburgh to move to Georgia after we vacationed there this past summer. We thought the people were so kind and friendly. This is what we thought we wanted. We decided to find a church to go to here in Pittsburgh until we moved. We were looking for the place where God's word was truly alive as well as somewhere where our children can grow in the Lord.

We visited Word and Worship Church. We weren't sure at first, but everyone was so friendly and this was a huge plus for us. Then I got a call on Monday from someone explaining about Connection Groups. She invited me, but didn't overwhelm me. She told me regardless she wanted to meet me and get to know me. I turned down the invite to the Connection, because I was thinking to myself, "it will probably be a bunch of petty woman calling themselves Christians, and me not fitting in and feeling very uncomfortable as I have in the past." I was tired of competitiveness and cliques that we would see so often in today's "church". However, it stuck in my head how nice she was and she didn't just try to get me to join some group but she wanted to befriend me. I thought about it and had the urge that I know was from God to visit the Connection Group, so I called her back and asked for directions. I got to there and was amazed how it was like a bunch of friends (not just petty women) coming together to talk about what they learned on Sunday morning. One of the ladies had been ill and everyone gathered around her and prayed in such a caring manner. They made me feel as if I had been there for years. I prayed with them and felt so comfortable. I quickly went home and told my husband. He decided we would continue to visit.

Another big plus for us is how our children were welcomed and treated. Several young people introduced themselves and made our children feel comfortable and accepted. I knew my husband and I would be fine because we loved God and had salvation, but we were concerned about our children. This concern quickly vanished once we kept visiting. We are now members and are very pleased with this decision.

God has used Word and Worship Church to change our lives and our destination. We no longer are moving to Georgia because we found that place we were longing for. We told God we wanted a fresh new start. We wanted to have a better relationship with God, and with others, as well as for our children. Our prayers are truly being answered.

We went to a retreat called Victory and Freedom Weekend and got freed from some things that we never knew where hindering our walk with Christ. Our children began to grow thanks to Torch'd and Ignite youth group leaders. Our 12 year old accepted Jesus Christ into her life 10/10/10, who also invited her teacher from school to church. Our oldest got baptized and now she helps with the youth and works for the church daycare. Our 13 year old son shared what he knew about Jesus to his classroom at school and we got a call from the teacher, who was surprisingly happy about it. Our other daughters show so much growth and we love it.

The ministering of the word of God is always so good and filling. Pastor Rick, his wife Natalie, all the elders, their wives, and every single leader are so loving, kind and great examples of Godly leaders, wives, mothers, husbands, fathers, and friends. We are learning not just by the teachings, but by watching the word of God come alive through these wonderful people. My husband and I have learned how to effectively share the gospel with others and really connect to others in order to connect them to God. We are truly being trained how to be effective leaders for Christ.

We love the mission: Connect to God, Connect to others, and Connect others to God because it is truly being walked out and not just talked about. We look forward to seeing and being a part of what God is doing in and through Word and Worship Church. We are truly grateful for where God has planted us. It is truly good ground!

Todd & Traci

"Our relationship was in ruins, we were considering ending it all."

Todd & Traci

Hello my name is Traci and I would like to share my story with you! Two years ago my family was in serious trouble. My husband, Todd, and my relationship was in such ruins that we were considering ending it all. We were a broken family living with such anger and pain.

As we sat for the millionth time fighting and crying and trying to figure this thing out Todd looked at me and said, "Let's try going to church." So the very next Sunday we left our house of such pain and misery and headed to church. As we walked in the doors we were shocked at how everyone was so welcoming. When the music began I felt as if the words were jumping right off the screen at me. I became very emotional. I looked at Todd and he too was welling up with tears. He reached over and grabbed my hand. I knew at that moment that whatever we were going to face, whatever challenges that were a head, that we were going to be ok.

For the first time ever I could actually feel GOD laying His hands on me. As we drove home I felt the urge to flip through the Bible. As I did I stopped at I Corinthians 13:4-8. As I read I realized this message was all about love, and again I filled with tears. Wow, what an amazing message! I read it aloud to Todd and I could see the expression in his face. The anger and pain we had been holding on to so tightly was released and we were able to move forward.

We began to turn to GOD for everything. We began to pray at dinner. We began to see GOD in a way we never had before and little by little our lives started to change. I was able to sit with my husband and talk to him as a person. We were able to love each other with all our hearts. As our relationship began to grow we noticed a change in our daughters. They just seemed happier. There was no more fighting & no more yelling. There was just calmness; and this calmness brought our broken home back together piece by piece. We were able to turn our finances around. We were able to let go of a past that had haunted us for so long. We were able to become a family united together as one.

GOD did this! God changed us so drastically that even Todd and I look back and just think WOW! How blessed we are that GOD was able to step in right at that moment when n we were done; the moment when our family was going to be no longer.

We still have so much to learn and so much to give back, but as a family united together with GOD on our side I know we can get through anything. We are now a happy home we are no longer broken and that is all thanks to GOD.
